I'm pretty sure most of you probably know about Pinterest, spend a lot of time on Pinterest, heck...probably arrived here by Pinterest. Most of our readers find us that way.

You may already know of my love of Letterpress and that I occasionally like to add to my collection with a print from Jacqui who created our things{we}make logo. Last week I happily spent a day in Jacqui's new studio learning a little more about the process.

On Friday George played his first 2 matches for Ambergate Under 11's Kwik Cricket Team. Then on to Heage to the Marsh Trophy Cub Camp Competition. When a tired, grubby, but happy George arrived home we edited the movie we made and created a soundtrack with camp based sound effects. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.

This is our bid to be Samsung Global Bloggers for the London 2012 Olympics. Fingers crossed that the judging panel think we fit the bill.

Our boy is pleased as punch today because this: …arrived in the post this morning. It’s 5 months since he rescued Ray The Bird. George wrote a post about it, but it was our Twitter friend @LicklePickle that suggested writing to Blue Peter to see if it might earn him a badge: Since Ray flew away George […]

I am heading down (or is it up?) to London on Friday for the ‘Let’s Make Christmas’ Blogger Gift Swap at Fortnum and Mason arranged by Vanessa Kimbell. Each year my Mum used to take me Christmas shopping in London on the train. We finished the day at the theatre watching something like West Side […]

Vanessa Kimbell’s post suggesting we take part in random acts (bakes) of kindness was compelling. She suggested we think about who deserved a spontaneous thank you, a kind word or some recognition…and that we bake an extra batch of something just for them. I love a bit of random kindness. My mum always taught me […]

A manifesto for a ‘Making Renaissance’ by Ed Sutton At Things{we}make we regularly talk about what we make, sometimes if the mood takes us we talk about how we make, but what rarely gets covered is why we make. I suspect the main reason for this is that to truly explore the underlying motivations for […]

There seems to be some good stuff happening for me this week that has left me all of a flutter. Firstly on Monday, whilst we were heading home from a Weekend away, an article about Things{we}make was published in the Foodie Bugle. I was very flattered to be asked to be featured in the new […]

I baked these layered rolls, based on a recipe from Richard Bertinet’s ‘Dough’ this morning. We had them for lunch, fresh from the oven, with mozzarella, avocado, tomatoes, pesto and rocket. They are very easy to make as there is no shaping, just some random cutting and stacking. I made two batches of dough to […]

I am taking the lead for this post from looking at my WordPress stats. Instead of everyone searching for cake and woodwork, we have had a few thousand visitors recently looking at WordPress Blog Theme and customisation. It’s because things{we}make is in the ‘Who’s using this theme’ section in the WordPress Themes Showcase. So people […]
