The Marsh Trophy

Posted on May 21, 2012

It’s been a busy Weekend.

On Friday George played his first 2 matches for Ambergate Under 11’s Kwik Cricket Team.

Then he was off to Heage to the Marsh Trophy Cub Camp Competition. Several groups of local Cub Scouts gathered to show off their outdoor skills and have some fun. I headed over on Saturday to film some highlights for our final entry in the Samsung Global Blogger Competition. We filmed the boys cooking and taking part in the Calgary Races and George interviewed the Assistant District Commissioner to get her take on events.

The Cubs were scored on their cooking, tent pitching and hand built camp gadgets. George’s pack ‘Heage 1st’ were very proud to win the trophy with their well practised tent pitching, skilful cooking and great teamwork.

When a tired, grubby, but happy George arrived home we edited the film and created a soundtrack with camp based sound effects. With a slot of only 30 seconds it was so difficult as we had to leave out a lot of funny clips, and George struggled as his hay-fever left him somewhat snuffly, but we hope we were able to portray the spirit of the event.

You can be the judge of that though. Click here or on the photo of George to view the 30 second video.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
