Every Flavour Puddings

January 5, 2013

25

No bogey flavour ones (these are not Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans): These are my Every Flavour Puddings.

Christmas Red Cabbage

December 22, 2012

13

A Christmas side dish that you can prepare in advance and will keep your hob free for gravy making.

Black Rice Salad

December 17, 2012

9

One last reasonably healthy recipe from me before the gluttony of Christmas descends. Ed created this black rice salad one lunch time which is greater than the sum of its parts.

Clementine Madeleines

December 6, 2012

26

These are a nice alternative to a mince pie. They give you that 'chocolate orange vibe' without having to tap-it-and-unwrap-it.

Dulce de Leche Brownies

November 19, 2012

46

Super gloopy, caramel filled chocolate brownies.

Dark and Stormy

November 6, 2012

4

These short, cold days have me craving a 'Dark and Stormy'. Actually they have been making me reminisce about drinking cocktails in the sunshine in Bermuda. It's a magical place with turquoise seas and pink sandy beaches. We once spent a week zipping around the island on mopeds, swimming with dolphins...and drinking these.

Brendan’s Normandy Apple Tart

October 29, 2012

13

I spent Friday at the Seasoned Cookery School on a 'Brilliant Bakes' course hosted by Brendan, finalist in 2012's Great British Bake Off. The day started off very well with a slab of Brendan's homemade granola slice and a cup of tea.

Chocolate Cheesecakes

October 14, 2012

33

I know that all you want to do really is look at pictures of chocolate cheesecake. I aim to please.

Courgette and Chorizo Tarts

September 30, 2012

30

Tasty little individual tarts made with a thyme and parmesan pastry then filled with courgette and chorizo.

Plum Cake {Cheese Cake}

September 15, 2012

17

I took one bowlful of Victoria Plums from our little tree and turned them into a tray bake that has allusions of being a cheesecake.

Apple and Salted Caramel Focaccia

September 5, 2012

18

It's focaccia, but not as we know it.

Pasta

August 21, 2012

28

Today the boy and I made fresh egg pasta for lunch.

Stripy Beets and Feta

August 17, 2012

15

I love beetroot. Back in the 70's when on holiday I used to fill my plate with purple vinegary slices because it was something I recognised. These candy striped Choggia roots take my beety love to a whole new level.

Marshmallow Pavlova Cake

August 5, 2012

34

It's kind of marshmallow, doing an impression of a meringue, made into a fruity pavlova-style cake. You get me?

Chicken Satay Noodle Salad

July 22, 2012

15

Don't you think it's so much easier to eat salads when the sun finally comes out? This isn’t just ANY salad though, it’s a ‘Claire and Ed’s Spicy Satay Noodle Salad’

Ruby Gin Fizz

July 15, 2012

24

Nothing is easier than gin fizz. I tell a lie, drinking gin straight from the bottle is easier but I am told that it's frowned upon and I should really get a glass. Also, you've got to get your five a day from somewhere, so why not from cocktails?

Just Chilli

July 7, 2012

24

This Summer seems to be about cagoules, umbrellas and drying off soggy chickens. So I cooked a chilli to warm our bones.

Honeyed Apricot Tarts

June 23, 2012

20

Lil' honey glazed apricot tarts. You can eat these in one mouthful. That's one of your five-a-day right there.

Espresso Martini

June 2, 2012

19

Pour this cocktail into a martini glass and top it with 3 coffee beans. The bartender told me that they were for luck, happiness and....well I can't remember what the third thing was but that's because I have just had to drink a couple of these, for photography and testing purposes...just for you.
