Our local Artisan Bakery is The Loaf, in Crich. This week they held a charity ‘Pizzas for Pudsey’ evening in aid of the BBC’s Children in Need. Andrew and Roger were busy planning for the event so I pitched in to help out with a bit of inspiration for the topping of the cakes. The idea being that they match Pudsey Bear’s bandana.
I won’t go into to much detail here as you can find out more as The Loaf has it’s own blog and you can find their posting about the event here.
There were two sittings and George and I attended the first family oriented one where Story Teller Ceri Stevens wove some tales whilst we tried lots of different slices of Pizza. Here George is trying out the Pudsey Buns:
The Pizza’s were fantastic, but they didn’t hang around long enough for us to take a photograph of them. They really were fresh from the oven and lovely: crisp and tasty. I think we both had more than our fair share, whilst poor Ed was at home fending for himself.
Hopefully the Loaf will soon have regular Pizza Nights though so we can go and try them again, and this time we might let Ed come too.
Oh, and if anyone is planning anything for Children in Need I now have a shed load of the four colours of fondant icing going spare!

I’ve got to blurt this out… I was getting excited for teddy bear shaped pizza as this page was loading but it hasn’t come to pass!! Maybe I should try making some…
Love the cupcakes, they’re neat. Mine have looked like they’ve been thrown up in the air lately so well done.

Aah…sorry to disappoint! I think pizza’s in the shape of a bear would be tricky! When you are over the flu I am sure you will be back on track with super cakes.
