We have a new bookcase.
Hello bookcase, nice to meet you.
You fit that space very well.
I like the way you carry those books too, very fetching. Much better than them being all over the floor.
I won’t have to hoover round them now.
What’s that you say? Ed made you…in his workshop? Yes, he’s very clever like that.
You do know that that’s where my Christmas tree normally goes, don’t you? So that means I will have to wrap you in tinsel and stick a fairy on top of you.
I’m sure you will look lovely.
Yes, I do realise you are just furniture and you shouldn’t really talk.
Don’t worry, nobody’s listening, they’ll never know.

I now have bookcase envy. I am compelled to look at the titles of people’s books when I visit them so couldn’t help noticing ‘The Soul of a Tree’ and ‘101 things for the housewife to do in 1949’. Fascinating.

I would read them too! I’ve just gone and fetched ‘101 things for the housewife’ for your amusement, some of the chapters include: Washing and ironing by electricity, Dealing with the moth pest and How to make pouffes! Excellent. All the woodish books are Ed’s.

Ed’s a bit of a keeper, isn’t he? 😉 What a beautiful bookcase.

I don’t think I’ll trade him in just yet, I’ll hold on to him…Ed too!
