Thanks to Helen from a forkful of spaghetti who added this to her blog yesterday after a few of us asked for the recipe that she mentioned on Twitter. It’s a quick bread, with no yeast, no kneading and takes only 1 hour. Heaven!
Go to a forkful of spaghetti for the full details.
Here it is after I made it this morning:

Just a very quick recipe checklist for myself for next time I make it as I use my blog as my online recipe book:
Bowl 1: 3 cups SR Flour, 1 1/4 cups rolled oats, 1/2 tsp Baking Powder, 1 tsp salt.
Bowl 2: 1 egg, 1/4 cup runny honey, 1 1/2 cups milk.
Mix the dry and wet ingredients. Pour into a greased 2lb tin. Cook at 170-180 for 1 hour. Then brush with 1tblsp melted butter.

Brilliant, Claire – well done! Yours looks even better than mine – a really close-textured crumb. Delish, innit?!

170-180 F? Is this correct? That seems like a really low temperature to bake bread. Just want to make sure.

Yes – to be honest it is not a true bread. But that’s what I did!

I think that is the Celsius temp. It converts to about 350F.
