This console table in Canadian Maple was designed to sit on the landing at the top of a staircase, hence its very shallow depth. The subtle curves of the leg and the centre rail give a simple elegance, while the through wedged tenons provide some detail to punctuate the form.

These type of tables are nice to make as they can become sculptural in their own right, without too many structural issues to contend with. If its structural solidity you’re looking for, you should see my workbench…(maybe another time)

Hi,
Beautiful table! I would love to purchase one. Is it possible? Please let me know, I have been looking for a console and keep coming back to yours. Thank-you. Donna

Hi Donna, we are so glad you like it. Unfortunately Ed is not able to take any commissions at the moment. He is fully booked out on house renovations and his ‘proper job’. Best of luck finding your console. Thanks for reading the blog too. C.
