Saturday 10th July was the date of 2010’s Ambergate Carnival.
I was not on the committee this year having been involved in fundraising and events for Carnivals 2008 and 2009.
Luckily this meant I had chance to enjoy the Circus themed day and take a few photos.
The parade included juggling clowns,
the colourful marching band, the Long Eaton Militaires,
and a vintage car stuffed with kids and a ‘strong man’.
A great effort was made this year from all the kids in fancy dress
and the adults too!
” ‘ello, ‘ello, ‘ello. What have we ‘ere then? “
The usual suspects
The fancy dress competition was hotly contested.
This is one of the winners.
Here are a few other snaps from what was a fantastic day…
Congratulations to the Carnival Committee for 2010.
I think we scrub up well for a little Derbyshire village.

Thank you! I was running backwards and forwards through the parade like a nutter trying to grab some shots having regretted my choice of lens that morning!
