Well, would you look at that?
Checking on previous posts Attic Attack and Something in the Attic I see that it’s exactly a year since the renovation began.
I have now moved in and I’m busy making the most of my new workspace. It is brilliant to have a whole new floor of the house in use. A space that was there all along but needed a lot of thought and an awful lot of work to realise its potential.
Now it’s place for my props and backgrounds:
Somewhere that I can display a few photos and prints:
A quiet zone where I can work and welcome people with a cup of coffee…
But most of all, it’s somewhere with plenty of light and space to take photographs.
So far I’ve mostly been using it for people pictures. Portraits, if you will.
…and I’m loving it.
It certainly makes a difference from photographing cakes.
Although their will be cakes and lots of other food to boot. I just need to ferry it up to the attic now, so there is a high possibility of it getting eaten on the way.

Absolutely love your attic Claire… Good wishes for the ‘new’ phase – may the new work space bring you as much good work as the one earlier, if not more! I remember you had mentioned that all the wooden table tops that practically won you this well wisher of yours had been dumped in your previous attic. Hope they have a space here.
Come a small but a very momentous way Claire from asking you how you made the logo (though I went in a bit further by posting questions in the forum – so now my logo is all across the expanse of the blog-width but still unclickable!) – my blog just turned ONE:)

Cracking wee conversion.
Wish I had a space like that even a new shed would do me haha!

What a beautiful space! I’m just a teeny-tiny-bit (read: SUPER) jealous. Enjoy it!

What an absolutely beautiful space. You’ve inspired me to tidy my study! Not that it will resemble your studio by one 10th but surroundings do make all the difference to creativity.

Looks lovely. I notice from the quote you’re an Ansel Adams fan, as am I. There’s an Ansel Adams show on at the National Maritime Museum 9th Nov – April 28. large format prints not seen in UK before.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I am a very lucky girl. Ed has had a lot of back-breaking work to get it to this state. I am looking forward to spending more time up there. Oh and thanks Phil – will look that up.

It’s such a fabulous, beautiful space. Thank you for letting me be one of the first people to use it.

Ah thanks Jules, thanks for asking! I wimped out on the painting the end wall in the end as it was too difficult to paint behind the radiator. The people who visit will have to add the colour!

What a great workspace. I’ll be interested to here how the ferrying goes. I am trying to create a workspace and deciding if it should be a room straight off the kitchen or how it would be if it was a flight of stairs away. thx 🙂
